Abstract

CFP in newborn is defined as unilateral or bilateral facial nerve paralysis in neonatal period. Incidence of congenital facial palsy is 0.8 to 2.3 1000 cases. CFP is estimated about 8 to 25percent in literature. Over 800+ publications found globally with respect to pediatric facial palsy. Only few cases presented with unilateral absence of nerve. CASE CAPSULE1year 8 month old female child, 2nd born child non consanguineous married couple presenting with right side facial paralysis noted immediately after birth. Delivered with uneventful caesarean section at gestational age 37 weeks. Birth weight was 3.26 kg APGAR score 9/10. No family history of similar complaints. Vaccination schedule up to date. Developmental milestones  adequate Right side total palsy was noticed immediately after birth while crying. Grading of facial paralysis by HOUSE BRACKMANN scoring VI.
